Lozilla – When It’s Raining and the Younger Ones Have Energy to Burn

Oops.
I opened my eyes, looked out of the window, and the Tatras very quickly made it clear that today’s plans were going to be a little different.
Rain.
If you’ve already visited somewhere like the Demänovská Cave of Liberty and the younger ones still have so much energy that they look perfectly capable of taking the apartment apart piece by piece, I have one tip for you – one that, as you’ve probably guessed by now, we’ve tried ourselves.
Lozilla.
I used to be the climbing type once. A long, long time ago, you could occasionally find me dangling from a rope too.
As my children love to remind me – that was back in the last millennium.
This time, we were more than happy to leave the sporting achievements to the younger generation.
And they certainly weren’t bored.

An hour, two... or the whole afternoon

At first, we thought of Lozilla as somewhere we’d stop for an hour, spend a little time and then move on.

There are climbing walls for younger children as well as older ones, so everyone can find something that suits them. You pay the entrance fee, rent climbing shoes there if you need them, and you’re ready to go!
Well... they’re ready to go.
We had coffee.
And I have to say, there’s something rather nice about this division of roles on a family day out.
Our teenagers climbed, took a break, climbed again, chilled for a while and then disappeared somewhere onto the wall once more.
Meanwhile, we sat with our coffee, enjoying a little peace and quiet and watching our big kids have fun.
And suddenly, the rain didn’t bother us at all.

You don’t need to come here with ambitions of raising the next great mountaineer. And you don’t need any climbing experience yourself either.
You can simply come here – whether it’s raining outside or not – because the kids have energy to burn.
The little ones can climb on walls designed for them, the older ones can find their own challenges, and anyone who isn’t climbing can take a break.
Or, as our teenagers would say...
...chill.
And you?
You can have that coffee!
