The Only Year-Round Accessible Cave in Liptov

Stanišovská Cave is located near the village of Liptovský Ján, about a 20-minute drive from Jasná. It is the only cave in the Liptov region that is open to visitors throughout the entire year. Since opening to the public in 2010, it has been managed by local cavers, who also guide visitors through its fascinating underground passages.

The guided tour covers approximately 410 metres and takes around 45 to 60 minutes, making it an ideal activity for families, couples, and anyone looking for a unique experience.

What makes Stanišovská Cave truly special is the way you experience it. At the entrance, every visitor receives a headlamp, and the entire tour is completed using only its light. This creates an authentic atmosphere and allows you to discover the cave much like real speleologists do.

Stanišovská Cave is a fantastic destination for families with children. The short walk from the parking area to the cave entrance takes only about 10 minutes and is suitable for most visitors.

The temperature inside the cave remains constant at 6–7°C (43–45°F) throughout the year, so we recommend bringing a warm jacket and wearing comfortable, sturdy footwear. Headlamps are provided as part of the guided tour.
